New! Hospital Services Lobby Group

Wed, Nov 21, 2007

Hospitals

HEAL is a newly established hospital services lobby group that has been formed to fight for the provision of local hospital services for Blue Mountains residents.

HEAL is a bipartisan group comprising of concerned local residents.

HEAL will lobby State and Federal Governments to:

  • Stem the decline in the provision of health services in Blue Mountains hospitals.
  • Ensure more overseas trained doctors are actively sought for Mountains hospitals.
  • Reintroduce hospital services to Mountains hospitals that have been progressively stripped away since the amalgamation commenced with Nepean hospital in 1998/99.
  • Consider a community managed hospital model for the Blue Mountains, which would have an interest in and responsibility to provide quality local health services to Mountains residents.

The provision of local hospital services is an equity issue and Mountains residents should be treated as 2nd class citizens who are forced to travel long distances to access appropriate hospital care.

GET INVOLVED AND HELP SAVE OUR HOSPITALS!

HEAL will lobby Government via emails, letters and petitions. We are asking Blue Mountains residents to support HEAL through participating in letter writing campaigns and signing petitions and urging their friends and neighbours to do the same.

HEAL is a bipartisan lobby group that wants to improve the range of locally provided hospital services to Mountains residents - nothing more.
