Equitable Distribution of Community Resources
Sun, Aug 5, 2007
What sort of community do we want? I have a vision for a more inclusive, fair and considerate community. A community that cares for its aged citizens, nurtures its youth, remembers its disabled and provides for its homeless. A community where people look after one another.
If elected to Council, I will:
- strongly advocate for more State and Federal Government funding to ensure the provision of quality, local services for Mountains residents (i.e. hospitals, schools, and low cost accommodation).
- champion a local employment strategy & development think tank.
- advocate for Katoomba & Springwood Libraries to be open 7 days a week.
- advocate for improved club and meeting facilities for our senior citizens.
- support the provision of safe & accessible off leash dog areas in all major villages.
- advocate for programs and facilities that address the needs of our youth.
- work to improve our inter-village public transport systems.
- champion the establishment of more playgrounds for our children.
